Depressingly Slow Progress
I am only on chapter 5 now, and I’ve just realized how long it took me to get there.
Chapter 5 is the first chapter in part 2, and part 1 was full of names and vocab. I’m taking notes differently now and hoping it’ll go way better. I will say this, I got more read today than I usually get in.
I’ve given up on waiting for the person from eBay to send me the 3rd book I need and finally ordered it from Amazon. Should get here Thursday. With any luck, getting through the textbook will make these two books easy peasy! I hope...
Some of this is review, such as things on Pompeii. The textbook is from 2012, is it is a little dated, as there’s evidence showing the eruption happened a few months later than initially suspected.
Prehistoric peoples eating bone marrow keeps popping up, so I looked into... I hope not knowing about that doesn’t show my incompetence in this field...... but anyway. An article came out last October talking about how bone wrapped in dry skin was essentially their version of canned soup. Wicked. I downloaded the original paper but I doubt I’ll read it until I finish with the books
